Learning to drive can be overwhelming—especially for students with ADHD, autism, anxiety, or other cognitive differences. Traditional one-size-fits-all driver education doesn’t always meet their needs. That’s why we created the Differential Driving Program: a supportive, patient, and personalized approach that helps every student feel confident and safe behind the wheel.

We are excited to introduce the Differential Driving Training Program, which has been crafted for our neurodivergent learners!!!!

At Maxwell Driving School, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to learn how to drive in a way that meets their individual needs. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new driving program designed specifically for neurodivergent drivers!

We understand that traditional driver education doesn’t always accommodate the unique challenges that neurodivergent individuals experience. Our program is built to provide a supportive, patient, and customized learning experience to help every student feel confident and safe behind the wheel.

What Makes Our Program Different?

Personalized Instruction – Lessons are tailored to each student’s learning style and pace.

Sensory-Friendly Approach – A calm, structured environment with
accommodations for sensory sensitivities.

Confidence-Building Strategies – Focused on reducing anxiety and encouraging independence.

Smaller Class Sizes – More one-on-one attention for neurodivergent drivers.

Smaller classes create a more focused, supportive, and personalized learning environment, allowing our instructors to provide the attention and guidance each student needs to build confidence and develop safe driving habits.

Why Smaller Classes Make a Difference
Financial Assistance for Driving School Through Tennessee’s Department of Human Services VR Program

At Maxwell Driving School, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to learn how to drive, regardless of financial barriers. That’s why we want to spread awareness about the Tennessee Department of Human Services Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Program, which provides financial assistance for eligible individuals to help cover the cost of driving lessons.

How the VR Program Can Help

The Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Program is designed to assist individuals with disabilities in gaining independence and employment opportunities. Since having a driver’s license can be a crucial step toward achieving these goals, the program may provide financial assistance for driver education and training.

Who Qualifies for VR Assistance?

To be eligible for financial aid through the Tennessee VR Program, applicants typically must:

How to Apply for Assistance

Contact Your Local VR Office – Reach out to the Tennessee Department of Human Services to see if you qualify for services.

Complete an Application – Work with a VR counselor to determine your eligibility and funding options.

Enroll in Our Driving School – If approved, VR may help cover the cost of our specialized driver training.

If you or a loved one may benefit from this program, we encourage you to explore your options and take the next step toward gaining independence through driving.
